We have received further funding from the Department for Work and Pensions, extending the Household Support Fund for 12 months.
This is to support the most vulnerable households in the most need with food, energy and utility bills, as well as for other wider essential costs.
The scheme is available until 31 March 2026 or until funds are fully exhausted.
Our allocation is £2,569,812.98. This is a 12% reduction on previous years' allocations.
The government guidance is clear that the Household Support Fund 7 is there to help:
- low income households
- families
- unpaid carers
- care leavers
- disabled people
- pensioners
The fund is allocated across several key areas:
- Free School Meals Holiday Awards
- online applications for emergency support through the Trafford Assist (Emergency) Scheme
- continued funding for Trafford Community Response Hubs
- welfare rights information and advice support
- the Money Matters programme
- a direct payment voucher for eligible low-income households
