It's completely free to take part.

Alongside the challenge, there are also many free events and activities taking place across Trafford.

How to join the challenge

Pop into any library in Trafford to sign up. If you are not already a member, you can join the library at the same time.

You can also sign up for Story Garden on the Summer Reading Challenge website, where you can find book recommendations, unlock digital rewards and access competitions, videos and games.

How does it work?

Complete the Challenge by reading six books, and you will receive a medal and certificate.

You'll also get the chance to come along to one of our fun end-of-Challenge celebration parties with storyteller Robin Simpson.

What can I read?

You can read any books of your choice. Fiction books, non-fiction books, picture books, graphic novels, eBooks and eAudiobooks on BorrowBox all count.

You can also check out the Story Garden book collection, which are all available in Trafford Libraries, and reserve them on our online catalogue.
