Applying for school places
In response to the problems caused by Covid-19, the working practices of our School Admissions Team are being adapted, wherever possible, in line with government guidance.
As all schools are currently closed, applications for in-year places cannot be processed. The website will be updated as soon as further information is available.

Starting primary school in September 2020
The first round in the allocation of primary school places for children, born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 has now been completed.
Starting secondary school in September 2020
The closing date for secondary school applications was 31 October 2019 and the first round of the process has now been completed.
What happens next
All new applications and waiting lists have now been passed to the schools.
An 'in-year' transfer is when a child transfers from one school to another, during the academic year.
Trafford is the admission authority for all community and voluntary-controlled schools and all applications for these schools are dealt with by the Trafford School Admissions Team. Applications cannot be processed during school holidays
In the case of all other schools, the application can be made direct to the school and they will process the application and make an offer where appropriate.

Changes to Ofsted inspections from September 2019
From September 2019 Ofsted changed the way they inspect our schools. Inspectors will focus less on test data and more on what is taught and how it is taught. For more information visit the Ofsted website.
