Outdoor fitness classes, bootcamps, forest schools and other forms of commercial activity have become increasingly popular in our parks and greenspaces.
If your organisation plans to hold regular classes in a council park, you need to submit a commercial user application form at least eight weeks before you need an in-principle decision.
Since large classes can impact park grounds and other users, we don't generally permit private commercial activities not promoted to the public.
Our fees page has more information about additional charges for commercial classes.
What you need to submit:
All finalised and completed documentation must be included when submitting your application, including:
- Public liability insurance policy number and expiry date
- Site plan (you can use our downloadable park maps to create this)
- Staff qualifications (Level three or above fitness trainer qualification / forest school accreditation)
- First aid certificate
- DBS check for classes with under 18’s
- Physical activity readiness questionnaire (fitness classes)
