How you receive payment
We will usually make the payment into your bank account. This means you can pay for your goods using your debit card or mobile payment apps.
It will take up to five working days from when your application is made for the payment to appear in your bank account. Bank holidays that fall on a weekday are not working days.
If you do not have a bank account, you can request a supermarket or PayPoint voucher instead. We aim to process your application within one working day of receipt of your application.
You choose the payment method when you complete the form. We cannot change your choice after you have submitted the form.

Child is not eligible for the award
If your application says your child is ineligible for the award but they receive free school meals, contact us so we can check with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Tell us:
- application reference
- personal details
- your child’s full name and date of birth
Incorrect application details
If the form says your details are incorrect, restart the form and correct any errors. Contact us if it is still declined.
Missing pre-approved voucher
If you were expecting a pre-approved voucher but didn’t receive one, check your email (including spam and junk folders). Contact us if it is not there.
