Violence reduction for children and young people
The Serious Violence Duty is a statutory duty for specified authorities to collaborate to prevent and reduce serious violence.
We have adopted the following definition for serious violence: ‘intentional harm, either physical or psychological, that has a substantial or significant impact on the victim or wider community and which is often related to assaults, weapon-enabled crime, antisocial behaviour or homicide.’
The Trafford Serious Violence Strategy has been collaboratively developed and details the way in which different organisations will work together to prevent and reduce Serious Violence in Trafford. Contact us by email violencereduction@trafford.gov.uk.
