Discretionary discounts for Council Tax

We may award a discretionary Council Tax disregard in special circumstances or where it supports the interests of the borough.

Discounts are currently given to care leavers where Trafford Council is the corporate parent. You don't need to apply for this, we award it automatically when social workers notify us.

Special constables who serve in Trafford can also apply for a discretionary discount by downloading the form below.

In addition to care leavers and special constables there are certain situations where we may be able to grant other discretionary discounts.
