Why is movement good for us? It helps us to:
- feel better
- connect more
- reduces risk of many long term conditions (LTCs), both physical and mental
We can all benefit from moving more and maintaining movement as we age helps us to:
- keep our quality of life high
- reduce the risk of falling
- keeps us connected with friends, family and community
There are lots of challenges that mean that we don’t move as much as we would like to, or as much as we used to. The design of our towns and cities, safety and perception of safety, working from home, increasingly sedentary work environments and cultural norms all impact how much we move or not.
We want to change the way we talk about this, we believe that movement is for everyone, and we want to enable all Trafford residents to move more.
